Music Shows & Concerts in Quito

Music has always been an essential part of life in Quito. The city holds many locations where you can attend an excellent concert or dance to the hot rhythms of the salsa and merengue.

The principal venues for concerts in Quito are the Plaza de Toros Quito (in the Tomás de Berlanga and Amazonas); the Rumiñahui coliseum (in La Floresta neighborhood in front of Polytechnic University); the Cámaras theater (Amazonas Avenue, in front of the El Jardín Mall); and the Julio César Hidalgo coliseum (in the San Blas neighborhood).

The type of music greatly influences where the concert will be performed. The majority of concerts that are very popular are held in the Plaza de Toros or in the Rumiñahui coliseum.

The concerts for special occasions or for an audience with a more specific taste, such as classical music or chamber music are held in the Cámaras in the lower levels of the Quito Chamber of Commerce building.
